Earlier this year when Retroist regular Vinvectex gave us a quick review of Ready Player One I made sure to rush out and pick it up because it certainly sounded like a book that was right up my alley. I’m very glad I did because Ernest Cline really did craft a book that was more than a nod to classic video games and TV shows, more so he created a book that was a love letter to those of us that grew up during that era or have discovered the joy of the 80s.
Now thanks to the heads up by Harry Knowles from Ain’t It Cool News and Variety we learn that Ernest Cline’s new book Armada has already been purchased by CROWN Publishing and the film rights are already being shipped around.
No news on the release date just yet and from the Ain’t It Cool News site it appears the novel sold just as a 20 page outline but if the teaser poster art is anything to judge by it should be in the same vein as Ready Player One. We will keep you informed on the progress of the book as we receive it!
