My Disney Scrapbook – Walt Disney World in the 1970s: Part 1

I have always been a fan of all things Disney. When I was a kid, my fandom was such that I would cut out and scrapbook anything I could find about Disney. A few months ago I was looking through a box of old books when I found my scrapbooks and thought I should start sharing them here on the site.

I have removed most of the pieces from the book and have been scanning them. I am not sure what interest people will have in the clippings of young Disney fan, but if people enjoy these I will continue to scan and post them here. I might also put higher res scans over on Flickr.

These images are great! Like a window to that magic kingdom, frozen in time (yet still part of this world).

Imagine how truly magical it would be if The Contemporary where an apartment dwelling instead of a hotel?

Walk down in your Mickey jammies for a morning strudel.
Later, leisurely catch the monorail, barely a few minutes out your door, and wave at Goofy standing outside, before zipping off to work.
And any jobs in the area is one where you can don a silly hat all day, even if it’s accounting.

    I’m not kidding. Magical.

    Yeah, more Disney pics please.

Fantastic images. Somehow the buildings still look futuristic to me. Looking forward to seeing more!
