Captain Action

Captain Action was an action figure that Ideal made 1966 as a response to Hasbro’s GI Joe toyline. The idea came from the fertile mind of toy genius Stan Weston, who also though up GI Joe. Captain Action was equipped with a wardrobe of costumes allowing him to become Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Captain America, Aquaman, the Phantom, The Lone Ranger, Tonto, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Sgt. Fury, Steve Canyon, and the Green Hornet. Even with the diverse costume collection, Captain Action was never near as popular as GI Joe.

Very rarely will you stumble upon an original Captain Action figure in the wild, but you can pick up a reboot version of Captain Action from Playing Mantis. If you prefer something for vintage to cloth your figure in, Hake’s is currently selling a Flash Gordon Outfit in decent shape.
