The South Chicago Conservation Day Prize Winner in 1942 received this cool Witch Button

I am not sure what Conservation Day was, but it must have taken place on or around Hallowe’en back in 1942. Because the winner of Conservation Day (the person who conserved the most?) was labeled with this very cool Halloween themed button that depicts a witch riding on a broom (in the standing position). A move that I suppose conserves gasoline? Still did anyone thing of the precious magical resources she is burning while rocketing through the air? No one does.
