Porky’s Movie Mystery (1939)

With a cameo by the Frankenstein’s Monster and featuring the Invisible Man this Porky Pig short might be better suited for posting in two weeks when we shift into high gear with our month long Halloween celebration. Though when you have a classic Looney Tunes short like “Porky’s Movie Mystery” it’s just too good to not share on a Saturday morning!

Directed by Robert Clampett (Beany and Cecil) and featuring the talented Mel Blanc (Pretty much all of the Looney Tunes voices) as Porky Pig, well, Porky Pig as Mister Motto, an Asian stereotype character spoofing Peter Lorre’s role as Mr. Moto from his 1937 – 1939 detective films. Mister Motto is called back from his vacation to aid in the search for the Phantom, a shadowy character that is terrorizing Hollywood!
