The Ugliest Girl in Town

Sometimes, when you go to England, you fall in love, and in order to stay in England and be with your beloved, you have to get a work visa, and to get that work visa, you have to get work, so the obvious solution is to pretend to be a lady and somehow get modeling work because you are “unconventionally” attractive. In other words, ugly. The ‘60s were the golden age of odd, high-concept sitcoms – My Mother the Car, Mister Ed, The Munsters – and the show just described: The Ugliest Girl in Town, which ran for 20 episodes – that’s an entire season – in 1968-69.
