Go Go Gophers in Moon Zoom

Poor Go Go Gophers never got the respect it deserved. For those not familiar it was a western/comedy animated series that originally appeared on the Underdog series from 1966 to 1968. In 1968 it was spun off as a short lived separate series that lasted one season. Moon Zoom appeared in episode 53 of Underdog with the main story being “Pain Strikes Underdog”.

If you are a fan of Teddy Roosevelt you will love Kit Coyote.

  1. I loved go go gophers back in the day. It’s too bad all the underdog & bullwinkle shows are off the air these days.

I love this cartoon. Great theme song and voice acting. Sadly it’s a victim of political correctness.

  3. It shouldn’t be though, because it depicts the indians as being far more intelligent than their white foes. It’s similar to the fuss around speedy gonzales. Some higher ups somewhere decided he was politically incorrect & banished him for a long time, but then the very hispanic people whom he was assumed to be offending complained about his removal, saying that he was a positive image for always beating his opponents & such. Now speedy is back in the media again, even featuring in the recent looney tunes series.
