Behind The Scenes: Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1977)

Pic via Pat Barnett & Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News

As usual a gigantic mash potato shaped mountain of thanks to Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News for sharing this fantastic behind the scenes photo. We’ve got the legendary director and sometimes actor, François Truffaut, in this photo as well as the great actor Bob Balaban, just a step behind Steven Spielberg. But for me…I’m geeking out about who just happens to be to the right of Spielberg…I may be wrong here but to mine eyes that is none other than Lance Henriksen!

I can remember my Father taking me to see Close Encounters at the Razorback Twin Cinema in my youth, I was five years old and we were both blown away by the film. I can still remember the sense of enjoyable dread I felt during the abduction scene with Cary Guffey…even though my Father tried to cover my eyes I was able to handle it…and to this day when I watch it I still get tensed up.

SPOILER VIDEO if you’ve not had the pleasure of seeing Close Encounters of the Third Kind for yourself yet, do not watch.
