Spacepainting Video

Spacepainting has been around for a while now, but I still find it cool beyond belief. I keep wanting to get some cheap spray paint & some old magazines, and try it for myself, but I just never get around to it.

The one in this video looks particularly good:

    Hmm, I’ve never seen that type of sand painting before. I’ve seen where kids put glue on construction paper, then pour colored sand on it, and I’ve seen where you put colored sand in a jar & use a stick to make designs, but nothing like that video.
    I think the spacepainting looks more attractive due to all the bright colors, but that that type of sand painting takes more skill. With spacepainting, much of what you’re trying to createis naturally random, so it’s pretty hard to screw it up. In contrast, the sand painting is trying to create much more distinct & familiar objects, ones which are much more difficult to get correct.
