Battletoads By Michael Mayne

Battletoads. You can’t feel it of course but even typing the name of that classic NES game causes my heart to tense and my palms to sweat.

Rare had a hit on their hands thanks to the talents of Tim and Chris Stamper (Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, and Viva Piñata). It truly is one of the toughest, most unforgiving NES games I’ve ever played…I still haven’t beaten it yet.

However, even with all of that frustration I still really love the universe and characters from Battletoads and when I look at the awesome illustration up above from Michael Mayne from over on deviantART I can only hope that we will someday see a Battletoads comic book series.

I think it’s time a proper cartoon series was done for this property as well (aside from the pilot that (for whatever reason) failed to make it to series)… Maybe even a new videogame… Seriously?!? Why did the Battletoads disappear?!?
