Created by Mike Young in 1978 SuperTed has started in over 100 SuperTed books, with illustrations done by Philip Watkins, until 1990. The Welsh teddy bear has magical super powers and along with his friend Spotty tries to do good deeds.

I am not sure what channel was showing these in my neck of the woods in the 1980s, but at some point they started airing them and ever since then, SuperTed has haunted me. As soon as I hear the intro music, it takes me right back to laying on the couch in my living room with sun pouring in through the front window. I would like to say though that I am a little freaked out when he rips off his skin and we see the uniform underneath it. Something not right about a bear who wears a bear outfit over an outfit over his regular bear fur.
