Boba Fett’s Retirement

I am sad to inform you all that Boba Fett, the infamous bounty hunter best known for turning Han Solo over to Jabba the Hutt, has finally retired.

I bought this limited edition Fett (made by Illusive Concepts) several years ago, but at that time I didn’t have anywhere great to display him. For a few years I had him sitting on a shelf in my closet. My closet was not insulated and located next to the attic, which led for some high temperatures during the summer months.

As you can see from behind, parts of Fett appear to have warped due to the heat. Worse than that, the maquette dried up and became brittle from the high temperatures. As a result, the whole thing is brittle and flaking off. Deep cracks had developed around some of the edges. Sadly, I don’t think this Boba Fett will live to fight in another war.

Adios, Boba Fett 3,391 of 10,000. May the Sarlaac spit you out and send you on your way.

He’s not ready to retire. If anything this just makes him look a little more battle-worn and authentic. ;)
