UK Woolworth Christmas Commercial (1981)

Woolworths were still plentiful in New Jersey when I was growing up in the 1980s. Oddly enough, as plentiful as they were , I remember very little about their commercial lineups. While browsing and looking for ones I did remember, I stumbled across this gem from the UK. I find it interesting enough seeing commercials for Woolworth that focus on different regions of the US, so one from the UK is a real treat. Not only do we get to see products and prices from a different country we get a heck of a musical Christmas treat.

I’m going to have that stuck in my head all day! I just cause myself singing it on the way to the front door! I just watched it two mins. ago. NNOOOoooo…..

  2. Cool commercial! I think the two guys at the start of the commercial are Tim Brooke-Taylor and Bill Oddie from the BBC comedy series called The Goodies. You can see a picture of them from that show here:

  3. That was neat. I certainly do not recall seeing something quite like that commercial for our local Woolworth in my neck of the woods! :)
