Murder, She Wrote the Video Game Getting a Sequel

When Murder, She Wrote the Video Game came out last year, I counted myself one of the people who was actually excited about the release. Sadly the gameplay itself was lackluster. Filled with easy mini-puzzles, the game was more interesting for the theming, which let us rejoin Jessica Fletcher after years of no TV show. I did not think that the game had sold very well, but apparently the people at Legacy Interactive are not giving up on this title. Because they just announced that in early 2012, the sequel will hit store shelves. What can we expect this time around?

Master over 80 puzzles with familiar characters from the show, including Jessica Fletcher, Seth Hazlitt and Sheriff Mort Metzger. Featuring 3 original cases and over 6 hours of gameplay, Murder, She Wrote 2 provides captivating storylines and puzzling challenges that are sure to please both long time fans of the show and casual gamers alike.

A casual gameplay experience to be sure, but I won’t dismiss it out of hand. If those puzzles are challenging and the artwork and other media is decent, I will be one of those people helping to increase the odds of a part 3.

I miss you guys so much

I used to watch this on TV with my Grandma in the 80’s. I bought them on DVD for her, and we watched them again, she enjoyed it. She died right before the last box came out, season 12, and I was pissed she didn’t get to see it all. Plus, there could be another box set of all the later TV movies. But I’m glad she got to see most of them again. She was 90, and a WONDERFUL gran, was a mother to me.

  2. I didn’t know they made a FIRST game! My family and I watched this show EVERY Sunday night while I was a growing up. Such a great show. (Although, I would never, EVER invite Jessica Fletcher to anything. Someone always DIED when she was around! Plus, Cabot Cove must have been the murder capital of the world.)

And as a funny side note, Ron Masak (rendered above as Sheriff Metzger) sent me an autograph head shot of himself after I emailed him on a whim. I thought that was cool.

Also, am I crazy, or did Universal Studios Florida have some sort of Murder, She Wrote thingy? A sound effects stage? Learn to murder someone and get away with it? I dunno.

You know what would have been great? I remember the final Murder She Wrote episode and how hyped it was. I always thought it would have been cool if Jessica was revealed to be the murderer of that episode and then it was proven that she had been the murderer in every episode and always managed to pin it on somebody else. Oh, if only I was a TV writer.
