Sigmund and the Sea Monsters Season 1 on DVD

Sid and Marty Krofft were a big part of my childhood. So whenever anything Krofft related becomes available it goes straight onto my buy list. Last week I picked up a copy of one of my favorite shows on DVD, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. I am not sure what it was about this show when I was a kid, but I found it infectious, from its snappy theme song to its silly costumes, I could not get enough of Sigmund. It probably didn’t hurt that I always dreamed of having magical friends as a kid (still do).

Who wouldn’t want to be buddies with this guy…

This release looks great and actually has some special features including:

  • An exclusive look at the H.R. Pufnstuf American Cinematheque event in LA on November 20, 2010
  • A folder of mp3s of all of Johnn’s songs
  • And best of all Commentaries with actors Johnny Whitaker and Scott C. Kolden
