For Thirsty Starfighters Only

So there I was, walking through one of my favorite antique malls, when a booming voice came over the loud speaker and announced the following:

“Greetings, Starfighter. You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-dan armada. But the Frontier is pretty far from here, so if you plan on having your milk stay cold during your trip, you had better pour it inside this official Last Starfighter Thermos.”

As you can see, the Thermos in question plainly shows Alex Rogan playing the Last Starfighter video game. Just around the corner you can see Grig, Alex’s partner and co-pilot, and his girlfriend Maggie. In case you haven’t seen the film, Alex’s girlfriend is the one that doesn’t look like a turtle wearing a helmet.

The final picture on the Thermos depicts Alex and Grig’s Gunstar, presumably right before delivering its most devastating of attacks, the Death Blossom.

Not only am I pretty good at video games, but I now have a Thermos full of cold milk ready for the journey. Somebody call Centauri — I’m ready to help defend the Frontier!

  1. I agree Cold skim milk is the perfect accompaniment for a post Death Blossom snack.

  2. While milk “does a body good”, the Death Blossom does just the opposite.

  3. That is a FANTASTIC find, Flack! I’m am 100% jealous right now. :)

  4. I got to meet Catherine Mary Stewart back in march in Branson Mo. A theater there showed her movie “A Christmas Snow” I should have had her sign my “Night of the Comet”dvd but wasnt sure about taking it to that type of event. She laughed and said she would have gladly signed it. She is doing a live Christmas show there this nov and dec.

  5. I’m about 5 hours away from Branson — perhaps I will show up this winter with my Thermos in tow! ;)

  6. Beverages always tasted better in these old fashioned thermoses.
