Darker Fan Made Ending to the Original Star Wars

Yes it is darker and yet for some reason I find it satisfying. Have the new trilogy films finally worn away my support for a happy ending in the Star Wars films?

  1. vinvectrex says:

I seem to recall that some totalitarian regimes banned Star Wars because it promoted rebellion. Perhaps those countries would have been happy to show this version instead in the interest of demonstrating the futility of rebellion.

  2. Paul says:

George Lucas would be much less richer and would have sold many less toys if this is how the movie ended. Whether this is a good think or bad thing is debatable.

  3. Badwolf says:

I hate to say it, but this “new ending” is deep-fried in bacon drippings and drenched in LAME SAUCE!

It would make the entire movie pointless. Life is about improvement, advancing the species, freedom, building on our God-given rights.

It’s not about succumbing to the totalitarian whimsy of some Frankenstein wanna-be (see episode 3, Revenge of the Sith).

That being said, the first three episodes really sucked, and I hope Lucas improves upon them with this 3D release that is slated for the near future. The Holy Trilogy is fine as it stands; the apostasy trilogy needs vast and sweeping improvements.

  4. Well, I prefer the original ending myself. But in this movie universe…it’ll work out…Han and Chewie are still out there and due to this destruction they’ll find some way to raise an army of the Republic. :)
