Late 1950s Board Game “Rocket Race”

I have never seen Rocket Race before today, but then I spotted the late 1950s sci-fi themed games with it colorful rocket graphics on Hake’s and I knew I had to mention it here on the site. Just look at this box:

The gameplay looks pretty straightforward, but I am sure this inspired some future Space geeks and for $115 maybe it coud inspire you 9or at least help you relive some memories).

According to Hake’s:

Copyright 1958 Paul Stone. 13.25×16-7/8″ with wonderful lid graphics of three rockets blasting into space near planet with rings. Thin cardboard insert is game board with graphic of solar system and rockets including “Space Pirate Fleet From Far Galaxy” and derelict Space Ship. Complete with instruction sheet and punch out card with miniature rocket ships, space compass and spinner counter. Box has trace of lt. dust soil with some lt. tanning in white areas. Tiny bit of wear at lower left corner tip. VF. Contents are N. Mint. Unused old store stock. Nicely designed.
