I can still remember sitting on the couch with my older sister watching Welcome Back Kotter. I was young enough where I could not follow the plot, yet old enough to be thrilled by watching a show my older sibling thought was cool. I also found it endlessly fascinating that the guy on the screen grew up so close to where I lived. I did not realize at that point that people from Hollywood weren’t all raised there. As a treat I received this wonderful Welcome Back Kotter Colorforms set a year or so later, but sadly it got swept away in the great basement cleanup of 1986.
