My Unboxing of the 1984 EPSON PX-8 Portable Computer

Epson released their second notebook computer in 1984, the PX-8. Their first was released in 1982, called the HX-20. The PX-8 had a full sized keyboard, slim design (relatively speaking), and an 80 column by 8 line LCD display. A 3.5 inch disk drive, RAM module, and a modem were available for this neat vintage laptop computer.

  1. @RetroJustin Friend, I cannot tell you how much I look forward to your unboxing videos! Not just because you have the Robie Junior in the upper right corner, though to be honest maybe you should just do a video on him one day. :)

I appreciate all the work you put into your vids!

  2. Thanks VicSage! Good to hear the positive words. I was telling Retroist that I will only do unboxing videos if I have the original packaging. And more videos will be coming! As for Robie, though I don’t have the original box anymore, I am in the process of getting him fixed to work again. He hasn’t worked in years, but my future father-in-law has been soldering this, soldering that, and hopefully he’ll be roaming the house again :)
