1980 Slinky Commercial

…in metal OR in plastic.

My first Slinky was plastic and it never worked right. I assumed it was because it was plastic, so I begged and pleaded to get a metal one. Of course that didn’t work either. It would take another year before I realized that working a slinky required some skill and of course the right stairwell.

  1. My house in Queens had very steep stairs, made for really good slinky action. Looking back, what was the thrill..? Once it gets to the bottom, gotta run down the stairs, run back up and do it again. Wait a minute… we need to bring this back!! Forces kids to be mobile!
