The Original “Got My Mind Set on You” Video

I once bonded with a new friend over the fact that we were probably the only two people who remembered that George Harrison’s fantastic comeback single “Got My Mind Set On You” had an original, little-seen music video that was pulled in favor of the one of Harrison sitting in a chair surrounded by singing, mounted animal heads.

Okay, so the original was kind of nondescript – a teenage couple flirts while playing midway games. And one of them is Alexis Denisof, who would go on to play Wesley Windham Price on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I remember this and I remember wondering why there were two videos for the same song when I was a kid.

I’d never seen the video, but when I read your description, I figured the kids were playing Midway games (with a capital M). Like Joust, Gauntlet or Spy Hunter. Oops!

That’s so funny…about a month ago on my Facebook page I posted both of these videos…I definetly like the arcade one better…it’s more “video-ish”…
