I have always been a big fan of the classic when it comes to Scooby Doo. I like the original “Where Are You?” first and then it my enjoyment goes down as the years go on. So when new movies come out on TV, I watched them, but what I am really hoping for is a glimpse of old time Scooby. Creepy, silly and entertaining. I have to say that while Scooby Doo! Camp Scare is a contemporary Scooby mystery, with all the trappings of the modern twist (animation style, extra silliness), but this one has a little something that others had been missing. Dare I say, a little “Where Are You?” magic. At times it actually delivers some real “kid scares”, which is what I want in a good Scooby Doo Mystery.
The plot is simple, if a little on the snout. The group tells ghost stores while deep in the woods and the bad guys in those stories come to life. Then it is up to the gang to hunt down and defeat those baddies. Of course the product description of the DVD sums it up best.
Back-to-nature chills and thrills with Scooby-Doo’s all-new original movie! Welcome to Camp Little Moose–where the counselors are friendly, the activities are endless and the urban legends are intense. In fact, every time someone tells a ghost story, the creepy creature comes to life! But the Mystery Inc. gang doesn’t spook that easily so gather ’round the campfire to roast some bad guys. Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Freddy, Daphne and Velma fish for clues to solve the mysteries of The Woodsman, The Fishman and The Banshee of Black Canyon. And of course, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are hot on The Case of What’s for Dinner! Scare up summertime fun with the Mystery Inc. gang in this hilarious, feature-length movie that gives new meaning to camp spirit!
With Halloween around the corner it is good to get your Scooby fix on, so watch the original Scooby Doo, Where Are You! often and when you need a little something newer, with a plot you don’t know like the back of your hand, check out Scooby Doo! Camp Scare.
