Toothyum the Caramel Toothpase

I have really been enjoying my rediscovery of Dynamite magazine. Now I have been finding some great interviews to post, but you got to love these wacky ads that they ran. Who didn’t dream of a caramel toothpaste as a kid? Of course I never thought about the consequences brushing my teeth with pure sugar. Lucky for me these ads are cautionary.

Reminds me of the terrific Wacky Packages stickers I collected as a kid (and wound up smattered on everything bigger than a bread box around my house).
Wonder if the same artist(s) worked on this funny ad?

This is a fun trip down memory lane. I do recall these Dynamite ads – and this one in particular. I also seem to remember something similar to wheat thins…. any chance you’ve seen it, Retroist?

Love Sam Viviano – Started drawing for Dynamite! and Bananas magazines until he got into Mad Magazine. I think I have some issues with his stuff in it somewhere…..
