John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd are interviewed by acclaimed movie critic Gene Shalit on “The Today Show” in 1981, talking about their latest release at the time, “Neighbors”, which turned out to be the last vehicle for the two, as Belushi died a few months after this interview was done. 1. Atari Adventure Square says:

    Love these guys.
Grew up from kid to teen watching every SNL show. It was the high point of my every weekend, till the original cast got replaced.

  2. Wow, forgot what a freaky looking guy Gene Shalit was.

Thanks for this. It’s sad to see John chomping at the bit but not be able to express himself. I wish there was a serious interview of him at this time.

  3. Doug says:

That’s rough to watch, knowing what was to come.

I’m surprised they didn’t mention their other upcoming project, “Ghostbusters.” Apparently, Venkman was supposed to be played by Belushi.
