“Horroritual Pin” will Terrify and Raise Questions

horroritual pin

I spotted this simple pin while browsing stuff for sale at Hakes and it has almost zero description. It simply says:

1.5″ dia. dark red on black litho. c. 1970s. Tiny and faint 1/16″ scratch upper right. Exc.

It seem these pins were maybe given out in association with an advertising campaign for the Hammer Film, “Dracula A.D. 1972”. The film would show a short oath at the start of the film in which you pledge your loyalty to Dracula. “The Horroritual” looks like high camp and if you ask me it seems like an amazingly silly way to promote a film. Here is the oath that was show.

Now that you have seen it, you have “Been to a Horroritual”, so why not pick up the pin. For $5 bucks its an interesting and obscure piece of history that would make a for a great mobile conversation starter.
