Operation: Cold Slither

As one of Cobra’s hippest and boldest but ultimately woefully inept and transparent attempts at domination and subjugation, Cold Slither was the result of Destro designing a program that can create rock music and then insert subliminal, pro-Cobra messages in it. G.I. Joe and all his friends pretty much figure it all out because not only does the name of the band, Cold Slither, make an open reference to Cobra, the world’s most famous terrorist organization, but the lyrics do, so too: “you’ll be joining us soon,” “a band of vipers,” “when the venom stings, a new order brings,” etc.

With the guitar riff following the lead vocal and the overstated British accent on the lead singer, Cold Slither sounds a hell of a lot like Jethro Tull.

From the middle of nowhere in the Pacific Northwest, I contribute to the Retroist, write for trivia publications, and blog about music in a humorous fashion. I feel about "Back to the Future" the way you feel about "Star Wars." Also, I'm married and have a child (sorry ladies, orphans).
