Bubblegum Pop

Released in 1980, these were part of a series of Chu-Bops, two-inch-size replicas of popular albums of the era (two of my favorite albums ever, actually), and the record inside, as you can see, is bubblegum. The gum itself has gone a little Topps-y over the years, but it’s nice to know that at one time in the world, people liked the Knack so much they would chew gum wrapped in its picture.

  1. Holy crap! I had Billy Joel’s Glass Houses version of this gum, and my brother had whatever REO Speedwagon album was popular at the time in this series as well. Great to see these once again.
