Double Dragon for the NES

Double Dragon was a staple at our local Candy Store’s mini-arcade of 3 games. When the ads for the NES version began appearing, we were all freaking out about it. Sadly due to the limitations of the NES, you had fewer enemies on the screen when playing and as a consequence the game got boring really quick. Still a very cool ad though.

  1. Might not be standing in line to play, but your friend won’t be joining you for game play on the NES either.
    Stick to the arcade.
Never could figure out why there was not coop, that is what made the game.

Yeah, the NES version was lame. Wasn’t there a better version on SEGA Master System? That, along with Phantasy Star, I seem to remember being that system’s big bragging points.

It was coop in DD2 and DD3. I guess they just couldn’t figure out how to do it then since it was sloooooooooow. I even remember the arcade version slowing down if you had 4 people on the screen.
