Joust for the Atari 2600 and Atari 5200

I talked about Joust for the Atari 5200 in my podcast. It was my favorite game for that console and an amazing port (you can see the screenshot in the lower right corner). I never owned the 5200, but did own a 2600 and found that port of Joust a bit of a letdown. I guess I should have know it from this ad.

  1. Oh, how many hours I spent playing the 5200. about 15 years ago I had my controllers refurbed and played it again, then sold it. I regret it, though I could probably find an online version…

  2. Doug says:

Look at the prices for those games! It’s hard to believe that the top price point for new Sony Playstation 1 games was only $40 with stellar graphics compared to $32/$37 for far less sophistication. I wonder, with inflation, what those Atari games would have cost in the 90’s? Yikes!
