Disney really knows how to package a collection. They have released their classic animated short film on DVD and not only is it a great DVD, but it is chock full of extra shorts and a handsome “collectible” lithograph. “Mickey and the Beanstalk” which is a classic amongst Disney fans, is one of those all too rare adventures that include Mickey, Donald and Goofy and was always a huge deal for me whenever it was on the old Disney Channel. It was originally supposed to be a fully realized Disney feature, but because of budget constraints needed to be pared down. It originally was released in the 1947 movie “Fun and Fancy Free”.
The disc also contains the following shorts:
“The Brave Little Tailor” – Mickey stars as the title tailor who need to take out a menacing giant.
“Gulliver Mickey” – Mickey in the famous story “Gulliver’s Travels”. Marvel as Mickey confronts the entire Lilliputian army. A giant mouse??
“Thru the Mirror” – Trippy 1936 classic where Mickey takes the role of Alice and steps through the looking glass.
“Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip” – Mickey tries to sneak Pluto on a train – hilarity ensues.
The disc has Dolby Digital Surround Sound, a 1.33:1 aspect ratio and English, French and Spanish subtitles. It is a mere $13.99, so order yours today.
