Imagic Opens up the 8 bit Gates of Madness, Swallows Souls

I just love a game that promises to be a challenge. What I love even more is a game that threatens to rob you of your sanity and leave you a wild haired, pudding brained madman. That’s exactly what Imagic is saying in this classic ad for “Fire Fighter”. This was quite a common occurrence in the 1980s video game advertising.

Especially for Imagic who for 2 years destroyed lives and minds. Luckily for us their game “Riddle of the Spinx warped the mind of a young man named Gary Larsen so much that he put down the joystick, changed the spelling of his name, picked up a pencil and the cartoon world was never the same.
