One of the cool things I saw while vising the “Special Effects 2” exhibit back in 1996 at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry was this alien craft model from Independence Day 4.
My wife here is making a gesture to show how small the model was in real life, compared to how big it looked on screen. After commenting that the ship was roughly the same shape as her hair-do … well, let’s just say it was a long, quiet ride home from Chicago the following weekend.
It’s a rap: the final season! The Fresh Prince’s reign is over. Will Smith and the rest of the hilarious cast take their final bows with all 24 Season 6 Episodes on 3 Discs. A lot’s happened since Will’s life got flipped, turned upside down and he showed up at the Banks’s Bel-Air doorstep. And the final season keeps the fun rollin’ to the very end with hip comedy style, phat one-liners, a not-to-be-missed blooper episode, and guest stars that include William Shatner, B.B. King, Dick Clark, Richard Roundtree, Wayne Newton and – in a standout turn – Chris Rock as an on-the-rise comic and his butt-ugly sister. Any guess who ends up as Will’s date for a night for dancin’ and romancin’? You go, Will!
It ends with this one folks, we finally have all 6 seasons of The Fresh Prince. It is hard to believe that it took them this long to get all of them to market, but WB has done a great job with this release and it was well worth the wait.
This season, Will meets Lisa – and before you can say “Go slow, bro,” he’s in love, engaged and standing before the minister with 50 pounds of iced shrimp melting in the banquet hall. All that romance must be contagious, because Carlton finds his soul sister through online dating. (Unfortunately, that’s only half right. It’s Hilary.) And there’s a lot more than love going on as Will grapples with a big orange whale, a mobster, a bear, Jay Leno, Lisa’s cantankerous dad and in one of the series’ most memorable episodes, a bullet with his name on it. With this 4-disc set, you are cordially invited to all 25 laugh-out-loud, love-happy Season 5 Episodes of the hit, hilarious show that gave sitcoms street smarts.
Because of legal wranglings between New Line and Will & Jeff, the music video for this classic rap is nowhere to be seen. Still at least we can enjoy the music (in a form). If you have never seen the video, just picture a very cheesy video with Smith hamming it up, and you got it right.
