The Evolution Of The Warner Brothers Logo

As a big fan of films, I see a lot of studio logos at the start of trailers and movies and I’ve often wondered if anyone has ever taken the time to catalogue them. That question has been answered, at least for Warner Bros., by The Movie Title Stills Collection which has a fantastic collection of stills showing the design evolution of the studio logo.

Here are a few of my favourites from the collection, though truth by told, I could easily have selected 40 rather than 4!

The image above is from 1951’s Captain Horatio Hornblower whilst below we have the iconic Saul Bass creation used in 1973’s Enter the Dragon.

The last two are more modern interpretations, the first from 2007’s TMNT and the last from 2014’s Lego Movie.

The full collection can be found at The Movie Title Stills Collection, starting with the first logo in 1923, and including variations involving Seven Arts and Kinney Services plus future versions of the logo from new release trailers.
