When you are discussing some of the better episodes of Tales from the Darkside, the odds are good that The Odds will be at the top of that list. Which is of course why the Projectionist and myself chose it discuss on this latest Saturday Frights podcast!
On this show we will discuss the full synopsis for The Odds. As well as the rather amazing cast featured in the 1984 episode. Such as the likes of Danny Aiello (Moonstruck) and Tom Noonan (The Monster Squad) to start with. Of course we talk a bit about the other cast and crew who helped to make The Odds such a memorable episode.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching The Odds. In a nutshell it concerns a bookie who has taken great pleasure in never refusing a bet. However that personal creed will be put to the test thanks to a visit from the Darkside.
I certainly hope you will enjoy listening to the Projectionist and myself talk about The Odds. Furthermore feel free to discuss your own favorite Tales from the Darkside episodes in the comments!
We are also joined on this show by none other than Rockford Jay! Who you might indeed recognize from his writing on the Saturday Frights Facebook page.

This seems like good timing. Thanks to Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News and the Practical Effects Group we have this Behind the Scenes shot from the making of last night’s Saturday Frights post featuring the Tales From The Darkside episode ‘Inside the Closet’.
No doubt about it…that is one scary looking critter.
Welcome back to another episode of Saturday Frights! Tonight we have the Tom Savini Tales From The Crypt helmed episode entitled “Inside The Closet”. A spooky episode featuring the acting talents of Fritz Weaver (Twilight Zone, Creepshow) and Roberta Weiss (The Dead Zone).
The story involved a young college girl named Gail Aynsley (Weiss), who rents a room from Dr. Fenner (Weaver) a Dean for a veterinarian school. The last eligible room in town if we are to believe Dr. Fenner but the room does have a few problems. That scurrying sound that Gail hears coming from the oddly sized closet in the room…what could it be…rats maybe?
Turn the lights off and grab your favorite beverage and snack as you join us for another Saturday Frights and Tales From the Darkside to learn what is “Inside the Closet”.
