Retroist Game Room Challenge #8: Complete!

My friends, the eighth Retroist Game Room Challenge has been met and conquered. You guys must really, really hate arachnids because the scores on Activision’s classic Atari 2600 title, Spider Fighter, were incredible! There can be only one holder of the High-Score crown though and that goes to Zoltar! It was close though, very close. Zoltar edged out Sans Gluten by just two thousand points and thereby not only claims the crown but the Scott Pilgrim VS The World game!

Please join me in congratulating Zoltar for his impressive skills on the Game Grid! Stay tuned for further Challenge updates.

Retroist Game Room Challenge: Spider Fighter

Mordrach, out last Retroist Game Room Challenge winner as is his right has deemed the Atari 2600 Activision classic, Spider Fighter, the 8th title challenge to be met. The rules are simple, make sure I have your Xbox Live gamertag, you may either post it here or send me a friend request, my gamertag is Unicron2005. Make sure you have the game available in your own arcade and when I send you the challenge you will have 7 days and three tries to not only claim the High-Score crown bragging rights but you’ll get the Scott Pilgrim VS the World prepaid game for free to boot!

Retroist Game Room Challenge #7: Completed!

The classic video game, Super Cobra, was firmly trounced by the skills of all our players on the latest Retroist Game Room Challenge! Watching the playback was pretty interesting, seeing how different players handled the situations of the game.

But only one player can walk away with the Video Game High-Score Crown and the player with the highest score was, Mordrach, a past winner of the Retroist Game Room Challenge! So please join me in congratulating Mordrach for his awesome Retro gaming skills!

Now Mordrach has been in contact with me and he already owns a copy of Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley so he graciously requested that the runner up receive that prize, which means that Zoltar is getting the full game! Lend me a hand in congratulating Zoltar for his impressive score!

Mordrach’s job is just starting as he must choose the next game in the Retroist Game Room Challenge!

Retroist Game Room Challenge: Super Cobra

We’ve had a bit of break these few weeks on the Retroist Game Room Challenge but we are back and ready with a game that requires nerves of steel…and a bit of luck. This week we have selected the classic 1981 Konami classic, Super Cobra!

But what about the prize you may be asking…how about a full DLC game card for Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley.

The awesome Comic Jumper was developed by Twisted Pixel Games, the same mad geniuses who brought us the Maw and ‘Splosion Man for XBox Live Arcade.

So all you have to do, friends. Is make sure you are a friend of my digital avatar on Xbox Live, Unicron2005, and accept the challenge I send your way! You will have 3 attempts within 7 days to obtain not only the High-Score Crown but the DLC card to boot!

Retroist Game Room Challenge #6: Completed!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the H.E.R.O. challenge. Mordrach received top honors with an impressive 48,020 point score! We’ll be sending Mordrach a 1,600 point Microsoft XBLA card in recognition of his supreme H.E.R.O.ness. Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact count of the miners rescued, spiders vaporized, or rock walls demolished. But, I’m guessing they number in the hundreds. And, hopefully we had the opportunity to introduce this classic Activision game to a few new players. If you missed this challenge, there are more to come. In the meantime, strap on that rocket pack and get back to the mines for some rescuing action!

I would like to everyone to join me in giving not only Mordrach a big round of applause for his impressive victory but to our very own Vinvectrex as well for being kind enough to host this week’s Retroist Game Room Challenge!
