My Wife and I both enjoy visiting our local antique stores and flea markets, just as much as my esteemed colleagues, Flack and Plcary. The big difference is we rarely find anything as awesome as they do. Well, on this particular trip I think we did pretty well. I ended up with an old 8MM/Super 8 Wards 809 movie projector and this nite light. Sure I could have gone with a Biker Mice From Mars version…but how could I pass on a Kermit the Frog nite light for a little over a buck?
I think my favorite part of it is the K-Mart sticker in the upper right corner. No, it did not remain in it’s original packaging…I opened it and it’s lighting the nook of our kitchen.
I hope everyone is having an absolutely fantastic Thanksgiving today or at the very least an enjoyable Turkey Day. I missed the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade this year but I can at least remember when Kermit the Frog served as newscaster for the balloon in his image back in 1977.
A huge thanks to the Muppet Wiki for the photo you see above.
If you ever needed to see a moment that catches the magic and sweetness of Kermit the Frog, check out this wonderful offbeat and I would guess largely unscripted moment from Sesame Street. The little girl is adorable and charismatic and Kermit actually reacts to her. It is pure magic. A B C D E F …Cookie Monster!
I was just thinking to myself the other day while driving to work…when is Amy Adams going to have a new motion picture come out.
Thanks to MovieReel over on YouTube for answering that question!
You are most welcome.
I have never been to the University of Maryland, but this statue on the campus of UMD makes me want to visit just so I can sit between them and have my picture taken. This photo and others of the bench/statue were taken by Shaun Farrell and can be found on his Flickr page.
