Hake’s is selling a piece of Disney History (they often are) with this wonderful program from the World Premier of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937. The program is in excellent shape it has a 10×13″ oversized textured paper cover holding the glossy paper program pages that are 9×11″. That part is 24 pages in black and white along with a special four-page center insert on bright silver foil paper with text in blue. This insert notes the world premier at Carthay Circle Theater Los Angeles. The Program features interesting information on the film plus a full page listing “The Walt Disney Awards” of previous films and more.
Here is the cover, but the listing over at Hake’s has more scans of the interior.
Up until a few weeks ago, my oldest pieces of Disney collectibles were mostly print pieces from the 1960s and 1970s. Not anymore. Thanks to Hake’s and their amazing selection, I am not the proud owner of a piece of Disneyana from the 1930s. The piece is a Donald Duck Bisque that is “3.25” tall depicting Donald w/hands raised to his shoulders and head tilted upward w/eyes closed.” He looks amazing and all my other Disney statues bow down before him and why wouldn’t they. He is delightful.
He was not exactly free, but for $50 he is a great addition to anyone who is looking to add some depth to their Disney collectibles. Remember always keep your eyes open for interesting pieces. You never know where they will pop up.
