This seems like good timing. Thanks to Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News
and the Practical Effects Group we have this Behind the Scenes shot from the making of last night’s Saturday Frights
post featuring the Tales From The Darkside episode ‘Inside the Closet’.
No doubt about it…that is one scary looking critter.
As always a huge thank you to Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News for this behind the scenes pic of the one and only Tim Curry getting gussied up as Frank-N-Furter!
A heap of thanks to Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News for this wonderful photo of make-up effects legend, Shannon Shea (House, Predator, Monster Squad, Alien Nation…He has a long list of credits), working on Big Ben (Voiced by Richard Moll when he shows up in skeletal form and played by Curt Wilmont.) on the set of Steve Miner’s 1986 cult classic House.
Quint was also kind enough to point the way to Shannon’s own blog site, First Person Monster Blog! Make sure to jump over to that link because there is a ton of interesting stories to be read and some great photos to boot. Like the pic below, the prop novels from William Katt’s character, Roger Cobb that Shannon still owns to this day!
Thanks to ShockCinemaify for uploading this home video trailer on YouTube!
I can still remember the evening that I caught Philip Kaufman’s remake of the 1956 classic at the 62 Drive-In. Six years old might have been a might young to catch this terrifying Sci-Fi film but it gave me my introduction to the talents of Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum, Brooke Adams, and Veronica Cartwright. Of course I already knew of Leonard Nimoy thanks to the daily Star Trek reruns on our rabbit eared television.
A huge thanks as always to Quint at Ain’t It Cool News for sharing this wonderful photo from Pat Barnett, which I think should be entitled Seth Brundle meets Mr. Spock. Philip Kaufman is on the far right of the photo.

Just a few days ago I was given the opportunity to review the Stan Lee documentary, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story that is running this weekend during the EPIX Hero Weekend, which I stated in the review of the documentary is a nice lead up to the release of the Avengers next week.
I’ve learned today that EPIX is having a free preview weekend allowing us fans to watch Thor and Captain America: First Avenger as well as the Stan Lee documentary and that it started on Friday and will run through Sunday on Cox Cable, Verizon Fios and the Dish Network.
So if you find yourself with some free time, check those listings and make sure to watch With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story!
A huge thanks of course to Ain’t It Cool News for the heads up on this!
