Who ya gonna call?

I know the Ghostbusters theme is such a musical cliché around Halloween… I know this, yet I will still shove it in your face because of the simple fact that, everything… everything about Ghostbusters is awesome and Halloween is just another excuse for me to remind everyone of this scientific fact.

Here is a great 8-bit remix of the Main theme by The Pixbrothers (I highly recommend the track “Where is my Joypad?!“)
Ghost Busters ( 8bit Remix ) by The Pixbrothers

And for dessert how about a nice pallet cleansing 8bit remix of the Elmer Bernstein backing theme played through out the movie?

Devo’s Whip It in 8Bit

anyone who visits the massive Juggernaut that is Retroist.com probably knows we love Devo here and if you haven’t heard their latest album Something for Everybody then you should probably give it a whirl.

Even if you have never heard of Devo (shame on you) then there is still a big chance you have heard their excellent 1980 single ‘Whip it’ which works so unashamedly in 8bit I can imagine myself playing ‘Devo’s Adventure Castle’ on a NES or even Gameboy… but not on the Sega Master System ;)
This 8Bit concoction was put together buy the youtuber 8BITTS and I think you will agree it’s a mighty tune if ever there was.

8-bit Parkway drive – Romance is dead

Parkway Drive are pretty huge in the gen/tech/metal scene but if you are not into that kind of thing you have probably never heard of them so, today I present something that may sway you to the dark side of heavy guitar riffage.

This video was posted on youtube by downtowndanger and if you look though his videos there is a wealth of tunes bitcrushed to 8-bit which you may also enjoy.
Much thanks to Delsys32 over at Full Fat Promotions for bringing this excellent 8-bit artist to my attention
here is the original track so you can compare the difference
**please be warned the lyrics on this original track are definitely NSFW and not for the faint of heart**
