It’s a pretty great time to be a fan of comic book properties. Especially of fan-made projects like we shared two weeks ago with the intro for animator Joel Furtado’s wonderfully retro-inspired webisode series X-Men: Danger Room Protocols.
Mixing the 90’s Fox animated series with an art style reminiscent of Capcom’s X-Men: Children of the Atom, the 18 part series that Furtado spent working on by himself for almost a year has finally released it’s first episode, one pitting Wolverine and Jean Grey against simulations of the murderous mutant hunting Sentinels from the popular Days of Future Past setting!
Now I am sad to say that the fears I mentioned in that first post about the series seems to have come true, the debut episode had been up almost a day before it was pulled from YouTube. Thankfully the series has been uploaded on Vimeo, so sit back and watch Wolverine and Jean Grey go toe to toe with their foes in the Danger Room Protocols.
All I know is that Danger Room Protocols is shaping up to at least look like the arcade game I’ve always wanted to play since I first started reading X-Men! Telekinetic Fastball Special!!
