Released in 1961 and later re-released under the title “Eyes of Hell”, The Mask is a Canadian horror film that was shot in 3-D and released by Warner Bros. on November , 1961. The film did very well and has developed a cult status thanks to the rather strange scenes when the character of Dr. Allen Barnes (Paul Stevens) places the titular mask on his face.
This is a film that I’ve sadly not had the pleasure of watching for myself but I truly want to thanks to Joe Dante’s (Gremlins, Explorers) commentary for the original theatrical trailer as part of his excellent Trailers From Hell site.
If you would like to view the trailer without Dante’s expert commentary.

Joe Dante says that the film is about to be re-released again so perhaps we should keep our eyes peeled for it. But remember when you don the Mask it will alter your World as it reveals hidden truths…
