The holiday gift giving season is finally upon us and nothing says be merry like the soundtrack to a somewhat obscure 80s teen comedy called, “Joysticks”. It is a movie I have referenced in both posts on the site and even in podcasts and I was thrilled when they released it again on its 30th Anniversary. But even as a fan, I thought that DVD release was the extent of what I would see. But then I wished upon a falling Christmas season star and when it fell to earth it went straight to Eczema Records and turned into a release called Music from the Motion Picture JOYSTICKS. A Christmas Miracle!
Now when I am not watching this film classic or recording a podcast about the film (yes, I finished this episode), I can be rocking out to all the hits from this amazing soundtrack. Classics like:
- Joysticks
- Ball & Chain
- Free the Canaries
- Hooked
- Sunday Afternoon
- Video Jets
- Shake it Around
- Feel Alright
- Designer Jeans
- Last Chance for Love
Each song is composed by Ray Knehnetsky and performed by Legion and every one of them is a gem that gets better after each listening.
So if you have a retro fan in your life, or more specifically a fan of this amazing film. Grab your 9 dollars and run over and pick up your DRM free copy of Music from the Motion Picture JOYSTICKS (MP3 (320kbps), iTunes Plus AAC (256kbps), Apple Lossless (ALAC), FLAC)
