When I was a kid, I could tell that it was almost time to go back to school because my Mother would start buying soup and crackers. I am not sure if they were on sale or if she just anticipated their need in the upcoming cold weather, but very soon the soup cabinet was packed and my weekends were filled with chicken noodle soup and lots salty crackers. The thing is, the crackers seemed to last a lot longer than the soup. Which was fine by me. I would fill a plate with crackers, put peanut butter and jelly on them. Accompanied with a glass of milk, it was a real feast (one that I still find myself returning to when I need some comfort food).
I think the above ad for Premium saltines captures that warm comfort of the approaching Autumn season very well. Bring on the cold weather!
