Toolbox Murders 2 - Scream Factory

From the press release:
“Thought you saw the whole nail-biting, gut-wrenching story? Think again.

The handyman of horror is back with a new box of tricks in Toolbox Murders 2, a terrifying sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 2004 reimagining of the 1978 cult favorite. Picking up directly after the events of Hooper’s shocking film, Toolbox Murders 2 ratchets up the terror as it follows one of Hollywood’s most twisted killers. Resurfacing in the darkest corners of the L.A. underworld with a serious axe to grind, the killer hammers out a plan to put the screws to a new victim: Samantha, the sister of his prey from his previous rampage. Soon Samantha finds herself held captive in a house of horrors and forced to undergo the most unspeakable tortures… with little hope of escape.

Starring Chauntal Lewis, Brian Krause, Chris Doyle, and two-time Academy Award® nominee* Bruce Dern, Toolbox Murders 2 will disturb even the most level-headed fright fan while pushing every envelope imaginable and drilling shocking imagery into their minds!
*1978: Best Supporting Actor, Coming Home; 2014: Best Actor, Nebraska”

The extras for this release are shockingly light for a Scream Factory product, merely a trailer, but to be fair with the background on the film itself it’s lucky their is a movie to be offered at all. Completed in 2011 as a sequel to the 2004 remake of 1978’s Toolbox Murders that was helmed by Tobe Hooper, it is rumored that Director Dean C. Jones after a rather disastrous screening had a dust up with the producers on the direction of the film. Not being able to overcome their differences the Director edited the film with the addition of two other films into 2013’s Coffin Baby thereby making it a standalone film even if it did borrow the name of the Toolbox Murders psychopath. It looks like Jones and the producers were able to settle their differences and with the Scream Factory release have presented a true sequel to the 2004 film.

You should be able to pick up the film to complete your Toolbox Murders collection at most retailers but you can also order your copy from Scream Factory itself.
