I wanted to learn to program when I was young, but after finally getting a computer, the thing that kept me staring at it day after day were the games. Ads like this from Atarisoft would constantly reinvigorate my passion of the machine with the promise of an arcade style experience at the touch of my keyboard.
Oh and although I enjoy the Atari 2600 version of the game more than I should, I REALLY enjoyed the Atarisoft incarnation of Gremlins.
