Merry-Go-Round had a decent run. It started in the seventies and folded in the mid-nineties, but in those years they managed to sell a lot of cloths that my Mother always dismissed as “faddish”, but really seemed to appeal to both of my sisters.
I never bought a single piece of clothing at the Merry-Go-Round, but spent a good amount of time in there while my sisters shopped. Usually staring at the racks of brightly colored cloths and listening to loud music while my Mother complained incessantly about both.
Even when you weren’t at the mall (and I think every mall had one), you could not escape this chain because they ran some pretty great commercials. Like this one that invited you to feel the Fashion Noize…
