I found this ad in the back of an old magazine a few weeks ago. I had never heard of GI Jason before, but ads likes this were greedily cut out by friends of mine when I was a kid. They went through a phase, that probably lasted about a year, where they were obsessed with wearing camouflage. Since not a lot of stores in our town sold the stuff, it was only through mail-order that it could be acquired.
I was not immune to this trend and on a trip to Florida, at a Swap Meet, I managed to pick up a pair of camo pants, a belt and shirt. I thought I was too cool for school until it was pointed out to me that my dingy white sneakers would stand out like a sore thumb.
