I love this promo because not only is it chilling, but it also features the very memorable “Movie of the Week” intro music and narration. “When Michael Calls” is a lot scarier than it has the right to be in my opinion. I am not sure if it is the pacing, the art direction, the early 1970s styling or a combination of all of it, but the end result is a very unsettling product. The film is available on DVD, but without the original commercial breaks, it just isn’t the same. Nothing is more chilling than a terrifying story of haunting, punctuated by ads for antacids.
