I would load up on the Golden Nature Books at garage sales when I was a kid. You would think that with all the ones I owned I would be an expert at things like bird or insect identification, but I never really got around to studying any of them deeply and instead treated them as casual browsing material until they would fall apart. Well into the late nineties, I was still finding fragments or loose pages of Golden Nature Books in random places around my childhood home.
